Description
Once, a long time ago, a pantheon of gods and goddesses of the elements rules over the land of Equestria. They were almighty and controlled all those that roam the Earth, which sat below their godly and pure heaven. They were all loved and worshipped by the mortal ponies, who would flock to their temples and give the most precious of offerings as a sign of gratitude for all the gods have done to give warmth, life, hope and happiness.
There was one god, however, that was not loved.
He was the god that controlled Darkness. Nopony ever went to worship him or give offerings. Nopony thanked him for his work. Most didn't even knew he was a god and thought he was some evil demon from hell. Even the other gods shunned him for what he had to do. He was denied parties, gatherings and even discussions about the state of the world. He merely existed by the shadows.
He felt rejected and unable to enjoy a life where he was appreciated for who he was. Worst, he was immortal and must endure it all forever.
Eventually, unable to bear it anymore, he left his nightly monastery, ran away from heaven and went to Equestria, taking on a more normal form, so that he could live away from the other gods and live a life where he could make friends, feel accepted and know how it felt to be liked.
But he made a promise. On the night that the Moon Monastery, once his home, became visible from down on mortal turf and when the world experiences at the same time a full eclipse, he would return back to heaven and take his place amongst the gods as the one to rule them all...
That was his promise...
Okay, joking aside, I really must stop with the story telling accent. And don't worry, this is not cannon and Samukai will not become a god in disguise XD
This piece took me quite a while to do and to get the texture right for me. But I think it looks good. And perfect for my 100th Deviant. It shows that I've improved from the first picture I've done, and hopefully by the time of the 200 mark, I can get even better. Yah!
